After graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with dual degrees in Theater Arts and Communication Studies, Vanessa worked in theater education before founding a new nonprofit in 2020. Dark Muse Performing Arts was created for Black, brown, queer and trans communities to heal through creative expression. She is currently based in Minneapolis, MN and works as a freelance artist.
